Phosphates use in plants
WebPhosphorus is essential for plant health and growth, yet it is difficult for plants to absorb. The N-P-K ratio of 0-2-0 in rock phosphate makes it an excellent phosphorus source. Following application, rock phosphate is more readily available for use in subsequent years, and phosphorous is most available in soils with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0. WebAs a nutrient element essential for normal plant growth and development, phosphorus is utilized in the fully oxidized and hydrated form, orthophosphate (H 3 PO 4 ). Plants absorb and utilize either hydrogen phosphate (HPO 42-) and/or dihydrogen phosphate (H 2 PO 4- ), depending on the pH of the growing medium.
